Welcome

Welcome to our BSP webpage, where you can find a variety of information about the educational events and activities involving the teachers and students of our eight schools, six based in Lima, one in Trujillo and one in Cajamarca. The British Schools of Peru was set up back in 1994, starting life as the British Schools Development Fund Committee (BSDF) and is now over 20 years old. Over these two decades the number and range of events which are offered has notably increased and today we can say that the BSP fulfills a very important role in complementing the education of the approximately ten thousand students from our eight member schools.

The BSP is always interested in promoting the best educational practices and at the same time we give a lot of emphasis to the importance of English language. For this reason almost all our activities are undertaken in English and this provides a very important space for our students to practice and use the language. Since the great majority of our students are second language English speakers, these extra opportunities provided by the BSP are very valuable for them. We also continue to maintain close links with the British Council, which “is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities”.

If you would like more information about the BSP, do feel free to contact any of the member schools.

Best regards,

Derek Pringle
